Secure mobile ticketing solution

Digital Ticketing Fulfillment

Disappointment often fuels success. The drive to develop Tixserve came about when the co-founders, Pat and James Kirby, were turned away from a Rolling Stones concert due to fraudulent paper tickets they had inadvertently purchased. This bitter experience inspired them to research issues around security in the ticketing industry. While Pat Kirby had no experience in the ticketing industry, he was formerly a managing director at Payzone and had seen first-hand how other industries were adapting to the likes of digital and mobile.

The company has raised €3,000,000 from investors such as Zoosh Ventures, Enterprise Ireland and family offices to fund the product development and commercialisation.

Solution

Zoosh Digital were engaged to design and develop the Tixserve mobile ticketing solution and with an initial focus on the live music sector. Ethnographic and primary research quickly highlighted that a core concern within the industry was the loss of ticket control once a paper ticket has been posted to the purchaser. Many tickets end up on black markets and can be copied, as was the experience of Pat and James. As such, security was key for a digital ticketing system to be viable, but interestingly it was uncovered that it needed to be interactive in order to be truly sticky as a technology and enhance the event experience for the event goer.

In order for the secure mobile ticketing platform to be viable on the market, it was critical that the service operate in conjunction with the arbitrary web store setups of ticket sellers and that no friction is introduced into the sales process.

A white label ticket fulfilment platform was built on AWS by our agile development team. This platform includes applications for Android and iOS flavour mobile devices to be used by event goers and a complementing application for venue door staff. An administration web portal was also provided on AWS to allow the event administrators to configure their events, individual security policies and to support the integration of their web store, enabling ticket fulfilment.
